  2. Inoculations: Risk vs. Reward Inoculations, or vaccines, are an almost universally accepted method of fortifying one’s immune system against often fatal viruses such as polio, hepatitis, tetanus, measles, small pox, and even the seasonal flu. They are taken for granted, especially in America, where we have the highest rate of immunization world wide. Vaccinations were used to virtually eradicate polio from the modern world, as well as many other viruses of its voracious nature. Vaccines have undoubtedly saved the lives of millions, and are a key resource. The technology behind immunizations is fairly simple; by fighting off weakened or dead germs, your immune system learns how to combat certain diseases, and is therefore ready for, or inoculated against contracting them. The concept originated with Edward Genner, when he vaccinated his children with the pus of a small pock. Since then, the technique has been refined, and honed into a powerful weapon against many viruses. However, of late, people have begun to draw correlations between vaccinations and Autism.

  3. The People vs. Vaccines As of the last quarter of a century or so, people have begun to speculate as to the true nature of vaccinations, and there has been talk of vaccinations triggering autism in young children. Countless independent studies, as well as those conducted by the U.S. Government, have disproved all of the rumored risk factor correlating autism to vaccinations. Despite this, many individuals are still swayed by the case made against vaccinations, and leave their children susceptible to everything the average child is inoculated against.

  4. One theorized, but unproven cause of Autism that dissuades parents from vaccinating their children is a frightening one. The prospect of our bodies destroying themselves by 36 months is terrifying, yet that is not dissimilar from what this idea proposes. Myelin is a protein that exists within the brain, serving almost as an insulator on the conduits of neurons known as axons. This theory postulates that when an infant is subjected to a flood of brutal, yet dead, viruses, such as polio, swine flu, Hep A-C, tetanus, and so many more, in some cases an autoimmunal response is triggered. The idea is that the body will being to produce autoantibodies that will reach the brain and destroy the myelin, mistaking it for a virus as the immune system kicks into overdrive. This would result in reduced brain function, decreased functionality in the nervous system, and poor motor control. Autism- Autoimmunal?

  6. Autism And Chromsomes Despite the mounting cases against prenatal medications, vaccines, and other mutagens, there are heaps of incontrovertible evidence that dictate that Autism is 90% genetic, at the least. We know this partially because of its presentation in twins. The general consensus is that autism is due to a mutation on the 15th chromosome. However, more recent investigation has shed light on autism being related to issues with the 11thchromosome. On the 15th chromosome, the affected region 15q11-q13 contains a duplicate, resulting in misdevelopment. Extensive research in this area is still being conducted to this date. Scientists have found segments of DNA (markers) on chromosome 15 that are seen more in individuals with autism than in those without.

  7. Management Families struggling with Autism generally… ●Find A Counselor For The Affected And The Family ● In Some Cases, Changes In Diet, Especially With Regards To Potassium, Have Been Known To Help Significantly. ●Some Medications, Often Directed At Hyperactivity Will Be Employed ●Through Training, Children Who Struggle With Autism Can Have A Social Life.
