The Oklahoma Career Information System (OKCIS) is a comprehensive online resource offering up-to-date information on occupational trends, post-secondary education, and financial aid options. It aids students in preparation for job interviews, creating resumes, and even self-employment. With practice tests available for various assessments, OKCIS serves all Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) students, providing them with personalized portfolios they can access anytime. Driven by the State Department of Career & Technology Education, OKCIS seeks to enrich student career paths through easily accessible information.

What is OKCIS • The Oklahoma Career Information System (OKCIS) is an Internet-based delivery system for accurate, comprehensive, current, and relevant occupational, post-secondary school and financial aid information. OKCIS contains the latest national, Oklahoma and local labor market data and projections. • OKCIS also includes information on: • Job interview preparation • Resume and cover letter creation • How to keep a job • Self-employment • Military occupations • Practice Tests: ACT, SAT, PSAT, ASVAB, GED, ACT WorkKeys (Applied Math and Reading Information) • There is an extra costs to have access to these tests • Employment Opportunities
Who Can Access OKCIS • All TPS students have a school specific username and password. • After logging onto the program students are required to create an individual portfolio. • Portfolios can transfer to any TPS school. • Students have access to their portfolio as long as they remember their log-in information and as long as the program continues to be renewed. • Anyone can browse the OKCIS Website without a username and password
Who Provides/Pays for OKCIS • OKCIS is provided through the State Department of Career & Technology Education • The TPS College & Career Readiness Office pays the license for each secondary school along with the Test Prep packages.

TPS & OKCIS • TPS is in discussion on connecting OKCIS with our student accounting system – PowerSchool • 2014-15 TPS will be implementing technology on a 3/1 basis (3 students to 1 computer). The district will be 1/1 within the next 3 years • Device may be an iPad, laptop, chrome book, etc. • TPS is currently the clearinghouse for college & career information. • We’re asking universities/colleges/tech centers to coordinate events through our office.
