The Guaranteed Gambian project • tackles many issues around product, business skills, access to tourists, employment, development, improved livelihoods, transfer of knowledge, cultural exchange and customer satisfaction. • It is NOT a charitable project – it is about building a successful business by: • Understanding today’s customer / market place • Producing innovative designs relevant to The Gambia • Producing good quality products • Putting a value on producers’ time • Developing pricing models • Developing relationships with buyers • Increasing brand recognition • Maintaining and continuing all of the above • Thomas Cook provides the links to the customer - marketing opportunities, information on arrival transfers and in welcome meetings and a means for customers to experience the craft through a new excursion.
