AMS meeting: Saturday April 30 & Sunday May 1, 2011 (Possibly the spring bbq should be Friday April 29) Please apply to the AMS by September 30 (Thursday!!!) to organize a special session So far 13 special sessions including those organized by Drs. AA2 update Likely to finally hire Eva Perez from the Hotel College (from their Dean’s office) We had to endure “bumping” We were given an ordered list, from which to contact individuals, who had a first choice to our position (once contacted, an individual had 3 working days to respond). Interviewed Eva on Wednesday from 3-5pm (actually 3-6:50pm). She did not know the bumping procedure and had only been informed the day before about the elimination of her position in the Hotel College (Pat figured it out last week). We are typically against internal hires but she appears to be very good. Her hiring is not yet secure (some issues for us to take care of with HR first). She seems very excited to move to Mathematical Sciences She learned of the many exciting things going on here from the interview. Job security

Working on additional places to post/publish especially concerning diversity and inclusion.
