  2. ‘The Grid’ is a new digital channel aimed at 18-34 year olds, focusing on music videos, American sitcoms and youth orientated chat shows. ‘The Grid’ would be scheduled to start from 7PM- 5AM. This is because it’s aimed at young people that are most probably in education or working, so the evening would be the most suitable time to start. The Grid?

  3. BBC Three: BBC Three’s target audience is 16-34 year olds, airing from 19:00PM to 05:00AM. They’re aim is to “provide ‘innovative’ content to your audiences, focusing on new talent and new technologies”. They air from 19:00PM-03:00AM because they share terrestrial television bandwidth with CBBC Channel; which means when CBBC Channel finish airing that’s when BBC Three start, and when BBC Three finish airing, that when CBBC start. 90% of BBC Three’s output is from the UK and other European Unions, they show British programmes, ranging from different genres in which 80% is original. Their rivals are ITV2 and E4, BBC has always had difficult in attracting 16-34 year olds, but now up to 26.3% of 16-34 year old watch BBC Three- higher than E4, ITV2, Dave and Sky1. An average of 9million people watch BBC Three every week, (according to BARB) it has 2.6% share of 15-34 year old audience and 1.7% of the whole population. They show programmes consisting, comedy; drama, spin-off series and repeated episodes of series from BBC One and Two, and other programmes that attempt to alert others of their actions through series of programmes challenging common beliefs. http://www.theidentgallery.com/player.php?id=BBC3-2008-ID-1 MTV: MTV was the first 24hour, seven-day-a-week commercial channel, at the beginning their main purpose was to show music videos to advertise their artist but now they also broadcast TV shows like South Park, Crib, Teen Mom and my Sweet 16. Their target audience at the beginning were young adults and teenagers but now their broadcasts are targeted at ‘adolescence and teenagers’, 12-34 year olds. MTV is the number Media brand in the world, reaching 387million households worldwide. MTV also gives young adults everything they are passionate about, from fashion, lifestyle and sports, to attitude, politics and creativity, all through the prism of music. Rivalry Channels
