  1. Eph. 4:3-6a

  2. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope • INTRO: “As a church, we do not assert opinion beyond clear statements of Scripture about the details of what is yet to take place. This brief survey of our commonly held views about end-time events will concentrate on the basic essentials, leaving the more speculative aspects of prophecy to those who choose to suggest personal opinions on details not clearly delineated in Scripture” (End-Times Events, www.ag.org) Let us see if they stay with scriptures or not!

  4. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope I. Pre-Tribulation Rapture Speculation A. “The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years. ” (Our Statement of Fundamental Truths, Official AG 16 Doctrines, www.ag.org)

  5. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope I. Pre-Tribulation Rapture Speculation B. “The Rapture of the living saints is the first phase of what is commonly called the Second Coming. To the Christian who truly loves Jesus, the sudden appearance of Christ in the air will hold no fear, dread, or disappointment. This event is the blessed hope Paul mentions in Titus 2:13. At this time, Christ comes and snatches away His church without actually setting foot on the earth. The rapture of the saints is best described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, and 1 Corinthians 15:51,52” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  6. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope I. Pre-Tribulation Rapture Speculation C. “Believers who have died before the Rapture will be resurrected with incorruptible bodies at the Rapture. ” (ibid., www.ag.org) D. “With the saints removed from the earth, a time of suffering will come upon the whole world.” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  7. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope II. Tribulation Speculation A. “The Tribulation directly concerns Israel and is God’s judgment for long apostasy (abandonment of religious faith) and neglect of the Messiah – Jesus Christ. The Tribulation also affects the whole world because of its ungodliness and ill treatment of the Jews. The first half of these 7 years will probably be a time of prosperity and acceptance of the Antichrist as the great deliverer from economic chaos. But the last half of the period will witness the plagues described in Revelation 15:1-16:21” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  8. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope III. Second Coming Speculation A. “The Second Coming. This event is different from the Rapture. The second coming of Christ is the visible, bodily appearance of Christ as He returns to the Mount of Olives from which He ascended back to heaven after His resurrection. After the marriage between the raptured saints and the Lamb in heaven (during the Tribulation), Christ, the Groom, goes forth to claim all of His kingdom. He rides on a white horse, followed by the saints, also on white horses (Revelation 19:11,14). . . .The ensuing conflict between the world of righteousness and the world of darkness is called the Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16). At the conclusion of the battle, defeated Satan is bound and cast into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years (Revelation 20)” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  9. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope III. Second Coming Speculation B. “The Millennium. With Satan’s influence removed from the earth and Christ’s reign of righteousness unopposed, the Millennium will be a time of unsurpassed glory and perfect relationships. . . .The Millennium will last 1,000 years. Then there will be another fine tuning in God’s end-time dealing with the earth and its inhabitants before the perfection of eternity begins. Satan will be released for "a little season" to test the love, faith, and loyalty of those individuals born during the Millennium and therefore still untested as to their choice between right and wrong. The rebellion of Satan and those who choose to follow him will be short-lived. Fire will come down from heaven and devour the opposition. Satan will then be permanently cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20).” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  10. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope III. Second Coming Speculation C. “The Great White Throne Judgment. After the judgment fire physically destroys those deceived by Satan at the end of the Millennium, all the wicked who have ever lived on the face of the earth will be dead. Then will follow the resurrection of the wicked dead to stand before the austere Judge ‘from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away’ (Revelation 20:11). Books are opened and the wicked are judged according to their works. Then, like Satan, they will be consigned to the lake of fire to be tormented day and night forever.” (ibid., www.ag.org)

  12. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope “And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming (2015)” (2 Thess. 2:8) IV. Is The Rapture In Titus 2:13? A. Destruction of Lawless One “Appearing” [epiphaneia] (2015) (Titus 2:13, 2 Thess. 2:8) • Who put the lawless one in here? Isn’t this a “saints only” event? • If this is “the antichrist”, he is destroyed 7 yrs too soon! • If this is Satan, he is destroyed 1007 years too soon! “The first half of these 7 years will probably be a time of prosperity and acceptance of the Antichrist . . .” (www.ag.org)

  13. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing <2015> and His kingdom”(2 Tim. 4:1) IV. Is The Rapture In Titus 2:13? B. Judgment & Kingdom • If “appearing” is rapture, then the resurrection and judgment of the living and dead occurs 1007 years too early (John 5:28-29)! • If “appearing” is rapture, then the kingdom is in existence 7 years too early “After the marriage between the raptured saints and the Lamb in heaven (during the Tribulation), Christ, the Groom, goes forth to claim all of His kingdom. (www.ag.org)

  14. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope C. No place for... • Pre-Trib. Rapture • Silent coming • Return to earth • Earthly world (“ever” v. 17) (2 Pet. 3:7, 10) IV. Is The Rapture In Titus 2:13? 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. “The rapture of the saints is best described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, and 1 Corinthians 15:51,52” (www.ag.org)

  15. Assemblies of God PREMILLENIALISM: A False Hope 1Cor.15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. • No rapture mentioned! • No additional comings (1 Cor. 15:23-24)! • No silent coming (15:52)! • Made incorruptible & then return to corruptible for 1000 years (15:52)? WHY? • Can flesh & blood inherit the kingdom (15:50)? IV. Is The Rapture In Ti. 2:13? “The rapture of the saints is best described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, and 1 Corinthians 15:51,52” (www.ag.org)

  17. THERE IS ONE TRUE WAY GOD'S WAY Kingdom Age CREATION Church Age JUDGMENT Mt. Sinai “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.” (Mt. 24:4) “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all” (Eph. 4:3-6a)
