The Anacostia River faces significant pollution problems, with an estimated 2 billion gallons of untreated sewage mixed with stormwater entering it annually. The Anacostia Watershed Society and Anacostia Riverkeeper are spearheading efforts to combat this crisis through outreach and education initiatives. Join us at the Kenilworth Marsh for inspiring keynote speakers, a walking tour, and community activities like trash pick-up and pollution monitoring workshops. Together, we can reclaim our river and restore the Anacostia for future generations.
