  1. Los Verbos Regulares Present tense conjugations of regular –IR verbs

  2. Los Pronombres Personales (Subject Pronouns) Singular yo tú él / ella / Usted Plural nosotros vosotros ellos / ellas / Ustedes

  3. Every infinitive has 2 parts: 1. STEM - The stem is the part of the infinitive before one of the 3 endings. (-AR, -ER, -IR) For example in vivir– It is viv . . . (the part before the –ir ending). 2. ENDING – The ending is the –ar, -er, -ir part of the infinitive.

  4. Vivir (to live) = viv Recibir (to receive) = recib Escribir (to write) = escrib Part 1 - THE STEM Part 2 – THE ENDING -IR

  5. To form the present tense: Keep the stem, drop the -er ending, add the new ending. STEM + Verb ending -o -es -e -imos -ís -en

  6. viv viv viv o es e viv viv viv imos ís en vivir Por ejemplo…: viv ir

  7. escrib escrib escrib o es e escrib escrib escrib imos ís en escribir Por ejemplo…: escrib ir
