Major Changes to the PDHPE Exam Activity 1: • Section I Part A remains the same • Section I Part B will consist of short-answer questions, rather than a combination of short-answer and extended response questions • Section II will contain both a short-answer and an extended response question on each of the option topics.

  5. Exam Structure(changes highlighted in red) • Section I : Core 1, Core 2 Part A: 20 marks • Questions – 20 Multiple choice questions • Answer on separate multiple choice answer sheet. Part B: 40 marks • Questions – Short answer questions only • Answer on lines provided. • Section II: Options • 40 marks • One short answer and one extended response question for each option • ONLY answer the questions for the TWO options you have studied • Answer in a separate writing booklet

Time Allocation • Exam length is 3 hours (180 minutes) • PLUS 5 minutes reading time • BOS provides a recommends the following time breakdown on the front page of the exam paper Section I: • Part A: 40 minutes - Multiple choice • Part B: 1 hour and 10 minutes - Short answer Section II: Options: 1 hour and 10 minutes - Short answer and extended response

  8. ‘Practicing the Quick Tricks’ Activity Four: • Read the question • Identify the marks allocated • Circle the HSC word/s so you know HOW to answer the question • Underline the syllabus points so you know WHAT the question is asking you about • Read the question again for key hints • Use acronyms to remember key concepts
