  1. The AP PodAP = Adolescent Psychology Because we’re people-people. ~ Jacquelyn, Amelia, Helen/Nick ~ 

  2. Amelia – Revamping VAMP As adolescents participate in a group setting that they are emotionally invested in, they become more socially and academically successful. These benefits are not nearly as prevalent as the youth in question loses emotional connection to their group. High school is a time when it is vital to earn high academic achievement and to be socially active. Revamping VAMP aims to give freshmen an emotional connection to the freshman advisory program at Fremd in order to foster academic and social success by evaluating the current program and implementing slight changes to the program in order to establish an emotional connection to the program.

  3. Jacquelyn – Hey I just met you, and this is crazy… People make impressions of each other within a fraction of a second. Often we don’t know where these impressions come from; however, frequently, they’re very accurate. Humans make judgments about whether or not they get along with a person based on a split second interaction with them. The project researches what it is that causes these first impressions and whether they’re based on personality traits that we can see or if they’re based on what someone looks like. My goal is to see whether impressions based on appearances are accurate. By comparing someone’s reaction to a written sample of a personality to their reaction to a photo of the same person, it should show whether their reactions are the same.

  4. Nick/Helen – Real reasons for real friends • Alaina is the coolest person ever..

  5. Nick/Helen – Friends: Why do we have them? People often wonder what traits are prominent in your circle of friends, and what keeps their relationships with friends together. How do people value each other ? The patterns of the personalities in groups of friends were investigated and the common interests that held different social groups together were found. Along with patterns relating to common interests and personality, the research conducted showed how much you actually know about your friends’ personalities. Not only did the results uncover more about interpersonal and uncontrollable aspect of friendships such as personality and personal interests, they also figured out if groups of friends changed from a lunch table, to the classroom, to outside of school.
