  1. THE MOST DANGEROUS WORD “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth” (Prov. 27:1).

  2. The Most Dangerous Word • Some thought hate; others hell; and others fear, rumor, revenge or death. • What word has closed the door to success to many a dreamer? What is the word that paralyzes action and leaves duty undone? What is the word that is one of the easiest to speak, and at the same time one of the most fatal in its effect? What is the word that shines like a mirage on the desert’s face and deceives with false promise? What is the word above all others that Satan likes to persuade men to use? Tomorrow!

  3. God’s Warning • James 4:13-14 – “You know not what the morrow shall bring”. • The great word of the Bible is “Today.” • Heb. 3:12-13, 15 • 2 Cor. 6:2 • Tomorrow casts a spell over the energy of all.

  4. Absalom’s “Tomorrow” • 2 Sam. 17 • Ahithophel – a wise and crafty man, enemy of David. • Hushai – also wise, but loyal to David; at David’s request he joins Absalom. • Ahithophel counsels immediate attack on the fleeing David. • Hushai – verses 7-14, “wait a while.” • Victory was his, but he waited too long. Loses the battle, and his life. 18:15-18

  5. Felix • Acts 24:24-27 • Drusilla had been married to Herod Agrippa, but “traded him in” for Felix. • Paul’s message wasn’t what they expected. • Once we “reject” God’s immediate message, it’s difficult to resurrect feeling. • “Go thy way”, “later…”

  6. The Rich Fool • Luke 12:16ff • V. 19 • What was his “tomorrow” like as he faced God? • A beautiful funeral, with many mourners. • And selfish people to fight over his remains.

  7. Tomorrow… • “He was going to be all that a mortal should be – Tomorrow. No one would be better than he – Tomorrow Each morning he stacked up the letters he’d write – tomorrow It was too bad indeed he was too busy to see “Bill”, but he promised to do it – tomorrow The greatest of workers this man would have been – tomorrow The world would have known him had he ever seen – tomorrow But the fact is he died and faded from view, and all that was left when living was through Was a mountain of things he intended to do - tomorrow
