  2. Who? • John Mason was the founder of New Hampshire.

  3. What? • New Hampshire became a Royal Province in 1679 when John Cutt was president. • The people fished, farmed, cut and sawed timber, built ships, and traded Coastal and over seas. • The first people to settle were Separatists.

  4. The highest temperature was 106*F and the lowest was -47*F. • The average snow fall was 60-100in. • The land was known for its natural beauty. ~It had rugged mountains and clear blue lakes.

  5. Some of the Natural Resources were timber, fish, and trade in fur.

  6. Where? • The first settlers came from England. • It is most North of the Thirteen Colonies.

  7. Other: • They were the first state to have their own Constitution and they were the ninth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. They were the last state needed to ratify it. • In the beginning they had some trouble with Indians.
