COCONUT aims to efficiently deploy 1G-to-the-Home and 10G-to-the-Antenna using ultra-dense WDM-PON and coherent transmission for optimal bandwidth utilization and energy efficiency. The project addresses network bandwidth limitations, optical infrastructure saturation, and offers advanced UD-WDM transceivers for NG-PON. Key performance indicators include successful demo of cost and energy-efficient coherent transmission.
