  1. Poppies Bluebells March 2014 Spring term 2 Welcome to Spring term 2. We look forward to another successful term working with your children and watching them grow and mature. Homework and spelling tests Homework goes out each Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday. Please make sure that homework is completed and returned in time, if it is not then children will complete it in their golden time on Friday afternoon. Please make sure that your child is prepared for the spelling tests on Thursdays, these tests are very important. Please make sure that homework files and books are looked after and kept in good condition. The children need to take pride in their work. Reading! Children’s book are changed twice a week, please make sure that they reading at home with you and that you are signing the reading record. If the reading record has not been signed then your child will not receive a new book. If your child’s reading record has been lost please purchase a new one from the office for £1.50 It is very important that you read with your child every night and sign the reading record. Reading at home is VERY important! Label Items The pile of lost property is continually growing! Please ensure your child has their name on all of their belongings so we can make sure of their safe return. This includes PE kits, jumpers and coats. From the Year 2 team – Miss Goodwin, Mr Hopper, Rhaimou, Lorraine, Asha and Tahira Art Over this half term please help your child to create an animal or plant using recyclable materials. Please send these in as soon as they are completed so that we can display them in the class.

  2. Literacy In Literacy this term, our Power of Reading book is The diary of a killer cat by Anne Fine. If possible please purchase a copy of this book for your child to have as their own. Thank you. PE Please make sure that your child has a full, labelled PE kit at school everyday. PE is on Thursday. If children do not bring in their PE kit then they will miss PE. Children need plimsolls or other sensible shoes in their PE kits. Plants and animals Our creative curriculum focus this term is plants and animals, this is a lovely topic and full of new learning! Maths Multiplication and divisions are big focuses in maths this term. Please continue helping your child to learn these off by heart when they are sent home. Science In science we will be learning all about different plants and animals.
