  1. TIMING THE CAM TO THE CRANK • Timing marks facing each other • Timing marks a specified number of links apart • Timing marks aligned with colored links on the chain • Timing marks align with marks on head and block

  2. TIMING THE CAM TO THE CRANK • Match old parts to new ones • Specificily match keyway and timing mark • Make sure # 1 piston is at TDC when marks are lined up • Off brands are noted for inaccurate timing marks

  6. COOLANT PASSAGE • Passage connects cylinder heads at front of engine • Passage contains provision for the thermostat • Passage provides attachment for thermostat housing • Thermostat housing connects to upper radiator hose

  7. MULTIPLE RUNNER MANIFOLDS • Two or more runners can used with multi valve heads • One runner has a butterfly, that open at a specified RPM

  8. EXHAUST CROSSOVER PASSAGE • Runs under plenum of intake manifold between heads • Heat Riser (one side) closes at cooler tempretures • Forcing all exhaust thru crossover passage heating plenum • Bi-Metal Spring or Vacuum operated • Heated Air Intake
