  1. At the Big Red Rooster

  2. Summary Short summary: the story starts off with two main characters: Brett and Lisa. They are deeply in love and it is evident that everybody in the school is jealous of them. They get even more jealous when they find out that the dream couple got a job together in a supermarket called the Big Red Rooster.

  3. Summary part 2 Over time they find out that they are not as perfect for each other as they tought as they both have different work ethics and they fall apart when Lisa catches Brett cheating on Lisa with Dlylse (another Big Red Rooster employee).

  4. Summary part 3 Lisa is horrified by Brett’s actions and bikes hurriedly home. A few months pass and Lisa moves up the rankings in the supermarket and Brett stays behind as ‘box boy’. Soon Lisa discovers that Brett made a mistake and that they should get together again, and they did and lived happily ever after.

  5. Q & A’s • What is the main event? When Brett do the dirty in the supply closet & Lisa walks in on them • What is important about the story The important part of the story is that Lisa learns to forgive Brett Also, self control as Brett needed self control when he was “messing around” with Dlylse in the storage room. • How did the main event unfold? The main event was Lisa finding Brett and Dlylse in the storage Closet and being horrified to see what he had done.

  6. Q & A’s part 2 • How long did the story last? • The story lasted 20 pages and around 9 months in the story line • How has the author skipped the unnecessary events in the text and why has he done this? • The author has skipped unnecessary details by describing Brett and Lisa’s relationship before describing them, this shortens the story dramatically and he also skipped a long period of time when Lisa was ignoring Brett until she was promoted in the supermarket. • There are very few characters in the story, why is this? • There are very few characters in the story to keep the story short, simple and effective. They also keep characters to a minimum to maximize the story line and fit more events into the story line.

  7. Q & A’s part 3 • why aren’t short stories broken down into sections? • Short stories are not broken down into sections because the story is too short to have paragraphs or for the sory to be subdivided into different sections. • Why are the scenes set quickly in a this story? • The scenes are set quickly to establish the story line quickly and effectively so that the story line can be kept to an all time minimal. • How do they set the scene in the story? • The author sets the scene quickly by describing the event vaguely before describing the surroundings and the characters. For example: describing Brett and Lisa’s relationship before describing the characters themselves.

  8. Quotes • “It’s just like they’re that Romeo and Juliet” • “It’s just almost as good as anything you see in the daytime soaps. Better even.” • “oh, baby bunnikins”
