What’s Next? • Turn in the SDQ and Activity Resume to your counselor by March 1st! • Register for the SAT and ACT if you haven’t already • Visit Colleges over February and April Vacation • Ask 1 teacher if they are willing to write a letter of recommendation for you next fall • Write your essay this summer • Start filling out the Common Application in August • Essay Writing Workshop in May- More to come

SDQ • The SDQ is THE MOST IMPORTANT FORM TO YOUR COUNSELOR IN THIS PROCESS!!! • It helps your counselor write your letter of recommendation, so be thorough in answering the questions. • To start your SDQ, click on the “About me” tab. The SDQ will appear to the left of the screen. Remember to save your work each time you exit. It is due by March 1st! • The SDQ is THE MOST IMPORTANT FORM TO YOUR COUNSELOR IN THIS PROCESS!!!

  7. Activity Resume • Your activity resume is also due March 1st. • Your counselor will email you a link to the document as well as an attachment. • Please upload your completed activities resume into googledocs and share it with your counselor by March 1st.

  8. Advice from Colleges • Northeastern: “Be authentic. That’s what stands out.” • St. Anselm’s: “If you are doing community service, have outstanding talents we want to know. We make decision based on two important criteria: can this student succeed here and what has this student done.” • Boston University: VISIT CAMPUS! We really appreciate students who have taken the time to get to know us and visit our Admissions Office.

  9. Post Test Please complete the post test in Naviance under the “ About Me” Tab before you shut down your computers.
