The structure of the Library is made of reinforced concrete. • The structure of the Planetarium and bridge is steel. • The roof panels of the Library consist of anodized aluminum sandwich panels 49' 2.55" x 32' 9.70" with double-glazed glass panels. • The Planetarium’s main infill panels are made of GRC (glass reinforced concrete) and the bridge’s are pre-cast concrete. • The wall of the Library is covered with grey granite panels

  4. The main structural system of the Library comprises a circular wall with a concrete column grid of 23‘ 7.46 "x31‘ 5.95 " for the lower floors and 47‘ 2.92 " x 31‘ 5.95 " for the floors above ground level.

  8. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is trilingual, containing books in Arabic, English and French. In 2010, the library received a generous donation of 500,000 books from the National Library of France, Bibliothèquenationale de France (BnF). The gift makes the Bibliotheca Alexandrina the sixth-largest Francophone library in the world. The BA also is now the largest depository of French books in the Arab world, surpassing those of Tunisia, Algeria andMorocco, in addition to being the main French library in Africa.
