  2. 1907-Born/Family In 1907, Frida Kahlo was born. She was born in a city called Coyoacan. Coyoacan is a city, just outside of Mexico City. Frida’s dad was born in Germany, while her mom was a natural born Spaniard. www.fridakahlo.com

  4. Early Childhood • In 1913 Frida Kahlo got the disease polio. • She was only six years old. • However, in the end she survived it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frida_Kahlo

  6. Education • In 1922, Kahlo was enrolled in the Preparatoria. • Preparatoria was one of Mexico's premier schools. • She was one of only thirty-five girls.

  8. Another unlucky accident • In 1925, Frida Kahlo was in a tragic accident. • This accident involved her getting hit by a bus. • She was severely injured, but did not die. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frida_Kahlo

  16. Honors • In 1984, the Mexican government gave Frida Kahlo’s work an honor. • It declared that Frida Kahlo’s work a part of the national heritage of Mexico.
