In 1377 A.D. England, young Crispin, a 14-year-old serf, finds himself accused of murder after his mother dies. As the cruel steward John Aycliffe declares him a "Wolf's Head," Crispin must flee the only home he's ever known. Armed only with a lead cross, he embarks on a perilous journey that introduces him to Bear, a juggler who becomes a trusted friend and mentor. Together, they face the dangers of feudalism, uncovering the mysteries of Crispin's past while encountering characters who challenge societal norms.
