  1. Eaten with spiced and sweetened buns, bread or crackers, the product is a staple for quick snacks or on-the-go lunches for many Jamaicans. There is a strong tradition with Jamaicans of having spiced buns with cheese at Easter time and Tastee Cheese is the cheese of choice. A high proportion of the cheese consumed each year occurs in the few days around the Easter holidays.

  2. About Tastee Cheese • Tasteecheese was developed and is produced by Dairy Industries Jamaica Limited (DIJL), which started operations in February 1967. At the time we started with 12 staff members on a two-shift system to cope with the Easter demand for cheese. Since then Tastee Cheese has become a household name.

  5. Uses and Health Benefits Cheese is packed with a very high concentration of essential nutrients including high quality proteins and calcium. Cheese also contains phosphorous, zinc, vitamin A, riboflavin, and vitamin B12. All these lead us at Dairy Industries to encourage a diet rich in cheese and other dairy products. www.tasteecheese.com

  6. Uses and Health Benefits Bone Health Cheese is high in calcium content and rich in vitamin B. This is especially good for the bones of children, the elderly as well as pregnant and lactating women for strengthening bones and cartilages. Vitamin B in cheese aids the body with absorbing and distributing calcium. www.tasteecheese.com

  7. Uses and Health Benefits Osteoporosis As we age we lose bone faster than we can re-build it, as such we need to provide our bodies with the right balance of nutrition and exercise to combat the rate of bone loss. Osteoporosis develops over time when bone breaks down at a faster rate or when we don’t have the right nutrition to support remodelling. Osteoporosis can be treated with a protein, calcium and vitamin rich diet which are found in abundance in cheese. So, cheese can be ideal part of the diet of those suffering from osteoporosis. www.tasteecheese.com
