  3. Where is it located? • The bridge between India and Sri Lanka is called RamarPalam in Tamil, Ram Sethu in Sanskrit meaning Rama’s bridge. It is also called Adam’s Bridge. • The bridge is 18 miles (30km) long! • It connects Dhanuskodi tip of Rameswaram Island of India and Mannar Island of Sri Lanka

  4. Who constructed it? • Lord Rama constructed it with support of Lord Hanuman to rescue Sitadevi. • According to Ramayana yuddhakanda (chapter 22): When Rama was about to release a missile (presided by Brahma) from his bow, the sea-god appeared with joined palms and advised to get a bridge constructed by Nala across the ocean. The ocean god then disappeared. Nala accordingly constructed a bridge across the sea with the help of other monkeys. • According to PadmaPurana, Lord Rama broke the bridge after rescuing Sita. • Not only Ramayana, but Mahabharata, SkandaPurana, SthalaPurana are all having information about Ram Sethu.
