Outline: Prophecies Concerning the Future of the World • The Return of Jesus Christ to the Earth • The Battle of Armageddon • The Kingdom of God is established on Earth • A Millennium (1000 years) of world peace • “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”(Amos 3:7)

Signs of Christ’s Coming (1):Social and Moral Decline “ But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”(2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Signs of Christ’s Coming (2):The formation of the State of Israel in 1948 “ Thus says the Lord GOD: Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all . . .”(Ezekiel 37:21-22)

  5. Signs of Christ’s Coming (3):The Liberation of Jerusalem in 1967 “ And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles untilthe times of the Gentiles are fulfilled . . . Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” (Luke 21:24,27) The City of Jerusalem had been occupied by foreign powers for nearly 1900 years. The Jews regained control in 1967.

Signs of Christ’s Coming (4):The development of Nebuchadnezzar’s Image “ The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast . . . These will make war with the Lamb” (Rev. 17:12-14) " . . . a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet . . . Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together”(Dan. 2:34-35) The formation of the European Union = the 4th beast

  8. What is Armageddon? It is associated with a major battle:“ . . . which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”(Revelation 16:14)

  9. What is Armageddon? It is associated with the return of Christ:“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”(Revelation 16:15)

  10. What is Armageddon? It is associated with “the Day of the LORD” spoken by the Hebrew prophets:“ . . . which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”(Revelation 16:14)

  11. “That great Day of God Almighty” • What Day? • This event is referred to by many of the Old Testament Prophets.(eg: Joel 3, Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 14, Zephaniah 2, Jeremiah 30, Malachi 4, Isaiah 2 etc.) • Referred to by even Jesus Himself (see Luke 21:34)

For the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of Decision ”(Joel 3:14)
