In-home Coal Use and Lung Cancer Risk

This study investigates the association between in-home coal use and the risk of developing lung cancer. The researchers conducted a case-control study and analyzed data from various databases. The results suggest a significant increase in lung cancer risk associated with coal use in the home.

Inclusion Criteria • Case-control study • Provide OR and 95%CI or enough information to calculate OR and 95%CI • In-home exposure only, not occupational or urban exposures • Differentiate coal association from other biomass fuels • Population not part of previously published study Hosgood et al.
