The Notes of the Staff. Before we Begin…. Before we begin you need to know something very important. Music notes are named after letters of the alphabet. However, instead of having 26 different notes, the musical alphabet only has 8: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. The Treble Clef.

  2. Before we Begin… Before we begin you need to know something very important. Music notes are named after letters of the alphabet. However, instead of having 26 different notes, the musical alphabet only has 8: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G

  3. The Treble Clef Remember that the treble clef is also know as the “g clef” because the clef itself centers around the note line “g”. The G Line

  4. The Treble clef Now that we know that this line is “g” lets letter the lines and spaces below it. G F E The “G” line MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SKIP ANY LINES OR SPACES!!!

  5. The Treble Clef Now lets label the lines above the “g line”. But don’t forget that the musical alphabet only has 8 letters! F E D C B A G F E The “G” line MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SKIP ANY LINES OR SPACES!!!

  6. Good Job! Now lets move on to the Bass Clef

  7. The Bass Clef Remember that the bass clef is also called the “f” clef because it’s two dots are on either side of the “f” note line.

  8. The Bass Clef Now that we know where the “f” is, lets letter the lines and spaces below it. Remember the musical alphabet only has 8 letters! F E D C B A G MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SKIP ANY LINES OR SPACES!!!

  9. The Bass Clef Now for the lines and spaces above the “f” line. A G F E D C B A G MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SKIP ANY LINES OR SPACES!!!

  10. Don’t Forget!!! When trying to find specific notes using bass and treble clefs make sure you: Remember that the musical alphabet only has 8 letters! Don’t skip any lines or spaces!
