Regional Government Activities Coordinator: Steve Kerchberger • Activities included: • Participation in monthly meetings of regional Government Activities Coordinators • Issues: • federal legislation related to IEEE-USA. • Key legislative issues related Intellectual Property Reform, Immigration Reform, Energy Bill, SBIR & STTR reauthorization, Smart Grid (power), and STEM Education. • Posted updates from the GAC to the Region 4 Community site.

Tech Policy Activities CoordinatorJim Fancher • Energy Policy Committee • 5 Meeting/presentations in the sections • Hot topics include: Smart Grid, Electric/Hybrid Cars • Archaic nuclear concept: under discussion • Congressional Activity on Carbon-related Energy Policy • Working on the annual update of the National Energy Policy Recommendation • Vice-Chair of the Public Policy Committee of the American Nuclear Society • Available for talks on Energy or Nuclear Policy issues 22-Sep-14

Pre-college Education Activities 2010: Will Kassebaum • Very active in Teacher in Service Program (TISP) • Central Indiana Section • E-Week, Engineer Children’s Day – 600+ kids  • FIRST Robotics Essay Competition • Poster Presentation at Annual Meeting • National Science and Engineering Festival – National Mall • IEEE-USA PEC committee sponsoring booth at the NSEF October 23-24th on the national mall. • Development of Junior Eng.   7. 2010 Professional Activities • Recommendation of 10 PACE projects for funding • Participation at the I PACE committee meetings • Organization of best R4 PACE project posters at the Annual Meeting with help of Will Kassebaum and AyshaYousef • Presentation of Real-time Embedded Systems Session at the 2010 Annual Meeting • Publicizing actively participation at Annual Meeting and organization of PACE projects in R4 sections • PACE training at 2010 Annual Meeting • Communication of IEEE-USA PACE activities to the sections 22-Sep-14
