Albania • 67% of projects progressed; • Support for implementation of National Environmental Strategy project – draft law for environmental fund (one of the outputs; • EUR 323 mln for environmental investments (2014) and EUR 1000 mln (2027) to comply with EU env. Acquis (Draft National Env. Strategy); • Significant progress on hot spots (Sharra landfill, industrial – Vlora, Ballsh,Fier).

  5. Bosnia and Herzegovina • 63 % of projects progressed; • New projects to be added – Programme of Public Investments in BiH 2006-2008; • Establishment of Project Preparation Unit; • Water Quality Management at River Basin level in BiH (23 priority locations identified.

  6. Montenegro • 56% of projects progressed; • 4 new projects are proposed to be added to the list; • The law on eco-fund is In the drafting stage; • National Strategy for Sustainable Development (2006); • Establishing Environmental Protection Agency; • Environmentally Sensitive Tourist Areas Project for Montenegro (WB) waste management solutions.

  7. Serbia • 31% of projects progressed; • 5 projects proposed to be added to the list; • Establishment of the Development and Aid Coordination Unit (Ministry of Finance) – coordination of international assistance; • The Ministry of Environmental Protection (2007); • Coordination Body for supporting Local Infrastructure (Nov. 2007) – better coordination of assistance; • Environmental Protection Fund (2007 – support to construction of regional landfills)

  8. Kosovo UNSCR 1244 • 50% of projects progressed; • Draft Development strategy – revisions to wastewater projects; • Sustainable Development Strategy – under development; • Agency for Environmental Protection (April 2007); • Budget support to the Air Quality Monitoring Network
