Purpose The PACT program was established to help staff remain fully productive at work and home by providing immediate support to staff in the form of information, assistance, and referrals to the Employee Assistance Program and other community resources in the aftermath of a trauma-related event. PACT

  3. Comprehensive Approach Development of PACT • Specialized Training • Institutional/P&P Regional Teams • Diverse Composition of Gender, Age, Ethnicity and Job Class PACT

  4. Selection of Members • Application Process • References • Interviews Held • Voted on by Existing Team Members PACT

  5. Training • 3-Day Initial Training Course • Recertification Every 3 Years • Annual Professional Growth/Continuing Education PACT

  6. Clear Roles and Responsibilities • Outlined in Policy • Immediate Contact Made with Affected Staff • Referrals Made by Self, Supervisor or Co-Worker • Assist with Practical Things Affected Staff are Unable to Do for Themselves • Members Must Adhere to Boundaries PACT

  7. Leadership • Team Leader is Appointed by CAO • Responsible for Ensuring: • Team Mobilization • Selection, Retention & Replacement • Training is Completed • Incident Reports are Maintained • Quarterly Meetings are Conducted PACT

  8. Support from administration/leadership of the Department is imperative!! Top Down Approach PACT

  10. Strategy for Retention & Performance PACT Achieves the Following: • Enhanced Employee Performance • Improved Morale • Improved Staff Retention/Turnover Rates • Vehicle for Continuity of Care for Children/ Families • Reinforces Cohesive Workforce • Less Stress Related Illnesses PACT

Measuring Program Success Success Isn’t Always Tangible, But We Know This Program is Worthwhile Because of The Following: • Prevented Incidents are Innumerable • Positive Feedback Is Abundant • Intervention by PACT Has Lead to Affected Staff’s Ability to Return to Work • Benefits Have Extended to Family/ Community PACT
