  2. Information About Miss Rataic • 4th year at LGS • Graduated from UConn with a BA in Human Development and Family Studies; BS in Elementary Education; MA in Curriculum and Instruction • Loves to travel, cook, listen to music, and watch sports- NY Yankees, NY Giants, and of course, UConn!

  3. Important Information • School begins: 9:05 am • Recess: 12:50- 1:10pm • Lunch: 1:20- 1:45pm • Dismissal: 3:35 p.m.

  4. Specials • Specials: 10:55-11:40am • Monday- Library (book) • Tuesday – P.E. (sneakers) • Wednesday – Art (smock) • Thursday – P,E. (sneakers) • Friday- Music

  6. PBIS • “PBIS” is short for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. • Effective classroom management and practices that prevent behavioral problems are essential for supporting teaching and learning. • Clearly defined behavioral expectations are taught and reinforced.

Our Class Behavior Chart • Four colors: • Pink- Outstanding! • Green- Ready to Learn • Yellow- Think About It • Red- Parent Contact • All students begin their day on green • Students can move up and down the chart throughout the day • When a student ends their day on pink, they earn a Uconn ticket. 1 ticket= 3 shots at our hoop on Friday and a chance for a prize!

  9. Student Recognition • Students receive feedback on their positive behavior • Dolphin Dollars • School-wide Reward: Dolphin Dollars that each student earns count toward a reward for every student in the school. • First Reward: 2,000 Dolphin Dollars earns extra recess for all classes.

  10. Classroom Expectations • Keep our eyes and ears on the speaker. • Be kind and friendly. • Help each other. • Think about our words and actions. • Try our best and have fun learning!

  11. Homework • Beginning in October, a monthly reading log will be sent home at the beginning of every month. The reading log will be due at the end of every month. • Math work pages will be sent home on Mondays. They will be due on Thursdays.

  12. Conferences & Report Cards Report Card Dates: • Monday, December 1, 2014 • Conferences: December 2, 4, 5 • Monday, March 23, 2015 • Conferences: March 24, 26, 27 • Last Day of School • June 12, 2015 (for now!!!)
