  2. Who gets bullied? People who get bullied are sometimes disabled people, or people who have unusual names or names that are hard to pronounce. They are also bullied about their sexuality and their gender. When people are bullied they cry and they don’t go to the teacher or to their mum because they are scared of the bully. Bullying can happen to almost anyone. It's thought eight out of 10 children are bullied at some point in their lives.

  3. 7 Things I can do • 1. Tell a teacher. • 2. Tell a parent. • 3. Stay away from them. • 4. Stay indoors in break/lunch. • 5. Walk home quickly. • 6. Go home straight away • 7. Don’t speak to them.

  4. What can you do? Bullying is a very serious problem and cannot be ignored. If you are being bullied you have to do something, there are many methods but here are my favourite. • Stick with your friends. Bullies are weak, they pick on individuals, they fear large numbers. • Ignore them. Bullies pick on people for credibility. If they realise they’re causing no pain, no one will be interested any more. He/she will therefore stop. • Tell a parent or trusted teacher. Chose someone you like and feel comfortable with. If they are prepared they will know what to do.

  5. Agony Aunt Dear Dora I’m in year 7 at the moment and a group of year 10 girls are picking on me. What should I do? From Worried Girl Dear Worried Girl. This case is very common in girls of your age. From my experience if you stick with your friends they will protect you. I also believe if you ignore these girls they will stop. If the bullying continues tell a parent or trusted teacher. You are not alone. From Dora This is an example of a common e mail from a child in need. Please send your troubles in and Dora will give you some expert advice. Do not use your real name or state your address and any other personal information.
