  1. Fourth Grade2012-2013 Dear Parents/Guardians: I hope everyone has had a restful and fun summer. It is a pleasure to welcome you to our Fourth Grade program at Forest Elementary School. I look forward to working with you and your child to make their fourth grade experience both fun and educational. The following is some general information you will need to know and/or items your child will need for class: School starts at 7:55am. Please make every effort to have them arrive on time. We will have snack time each day. We do have children with nut allergies so be considerate when packing your child’s snack. Water bottles are encouraged. Label everything your child brings to school! Please check your child’s Assignment Book everyday for homework and notes. Homework assignments will also be available on my webpage. More info to follow. Please sign your child’s Tuesday Folder and return it each Wednesday. ***Communication between home and school is essential in your child’s development. Your child will have some form of physical education each day. Please encourage them to wear clothes and shoes so he/she can run, walk, and play. PE with our Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Vincent, is scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:15-9:45. Tennis shoes are required on the gym floor. Lunch is from 12:25-12:55 each day.

Good table and social manners are expected. In our class, we support each other in all that we do and say. I will reinforce good manners while your child is with me. • If your child is being picked up early or taking a different form of transportation home, please send a note with your child in the morning. I do not get to check my email very often during the day because I’m busy exploring Science, Virginia Studies, Writing, Spelling, Language, and Reading with your child! • Your child will have Mrs. Paula Mason for Math each morning from 8:15-9:15. She will be glad to discuss your child’s progress with you if you have a question or concern. Please feel free to contact me at any time you have a question, concern, or just want to talk.
