  4. Before washing the toys examine them carefully if there are parts that need to be removed first. You can’t wash them in the washing machine if they have an audio or music box inside, are particularly old or fragile. Wash them by hand instead. If you've got ordinary stuffed animals, you can give the washer a try. www.teddyclean.co.uk

  5. Place the stuffed animals in a mesh laundry bag. The mesh bag gives an extra level of protection from snagging. Use a mild detergent and always wash on the delicate cycle, because stuffed animals can’t tolerate an aggressive washing. After washing, remove from the bag and hang dry.
