  3. Reason #1: Verse 18, Satan’s Cosmic System hates the believer!

  4. First Class “if” that makes this proposition to be true. “if … and they do”

  5. The World - HO KOSMOS Refers to unbelievers and reversionistic believers of this world who reside inside of Satan’s Cosmic System.

  6. The contrast:God is revealed by His love, the world is noted for its hatred.

  7. KOSMOS indicates the presence of order and arrangement, organization, an arrangement by rank or a battle configuration.Eph 6:12

  8. In Greek philosophy it represented the total world system, but it also indicated various parts of that system.

  9. KOSMOS here means Satanic organizations, people, and a system of thought, which are antagonistic toward Jesus Christ.

  10. MISEO - Present, Active, Indicative, “hates, to hate, pursue with hatred, detest, abhor, to be hated, or detested.”

  11. Hatred is habitually expressed by those of Satan’s Cosmic System to those who abide in the sphere of Christ, (GPS). It will always hate you.

  12. It includes those who are a part of Satan’s Cosmic System, (unbelievers, reversionistic believers, as well as Satanic and demonic influence over mankind and the world system).

  13. MISEO expresses the intensity of mental attitude and of thought pattern, a system of thought that despises you.

  14. Part of that system is legalism, religionism, do-goodism, bleeding-heartism, utopianism and one worldism.

  15. They have hatred towards the believer who resides inside God’s Power System. They are implacable toward you.

  16. John 15:18a,“If the world (Satan’s Cosmic System) hates you all (and it does).”

  17. In vs. 17, Jesus commands the believer to express love to one another, while in vs. 18, He warns that the world will express hatred toward the believer.

  18. Therefore, even though we are hated, we are to express love towards those who hate us.

  19. Mat 10:22, “You will be hated by all because of My name.”

  20. Mat 24:9, “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.”

  21. John 7:7, “The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.”

  22. John 3:13, “Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.”

  23. Mat 5:44, “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

  24. Luke 6:27, “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.”
