  2. What is Muse? • Adobe Muse is a WYSIWYG website maker. • Their selling point: “lets you design and publish HTML websites without writing code.” • Its been in Beta since 2011, first released with Adobe’s Creative Cloud in 2013.

  3. Should you care? • It makes complex tasks like responsive design and scroll-triggered animation very easy, with the click of a few buttons. http://muse.adobe.com/ • Some Web developers are wary that it will put them out of business. Are they right?

  4. “Will novice designers have the upper hand on those who design by scripting?” No, because you can use Adobe Muse too. If you know both adobe Muse and the traditional way, you’ll still hold an upper hand to the novice.

  5. “Will the public stop hiring freelance web designers to make websites for their small-businesses?” • Consider impact of Wordpress on market • Consider our design knowledge

  6. “Would graphic designers rather use Muse and pay $49.99 a month, than hire out web developers?” Maybe.

  7. ….There will always be a need for Web developers (?) Because of rapidly evolving internet technologies. stay up-to-date. Be indispensable.

  8. Should you use it? • YES. (see last slide) • Don’t be a scripting purist. Not a shortcut, not cheating. It is a tool for rapid-app development. Supplement yourself with it.
