Building Skills for Tomorrow: W&RSETA Stakeholder Session 2012 Insights

The W&RSETA Stakeholder Session 2012 for the Western Cape highlighted the vision of becoming the premier authority in skills development within the Wholesale and Retail sectors. With a mission to foster a skilled workforce that contributes to sustainable socio-economic growth, the session showcased significant achievements including an 87% success rate in SMME submissions and 100% for Medium & Large companies. Additionally, it celebrated the enrollment of 140 unemployed individuals for business training and the successful internship placements of 100 university students with retailers.

  3. Mission • To develop a skilled and capable workforce in the Wholesale and Retail Sector, thereby contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development and growth of the country.

  4. Most successful ISDF WSP project to date: 87% submission for SMME’s, 100% for Medium & Large of baseline achieved

  5. 140 Unemployed persons enrolled to be trained to start own businesses (NVC)

  6. 100 University Students completed internships with Retailers

  7. 15 Learners from the Capaciti Project (collaboration between SETA’s, HET institution and provincial I initiatives (Cape IT initiative)) to address scarce skills at L8 placed
