This unit aims to deepen our understanding of the senses and their significance. We will explore the distinction between sensation and perception, and engage in discussions about sensory processing and adaptation. Topics will include vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell, as well as perceptual phenomena like subliminal messages. Students will rank their senses in order of importance, considering how the loss of each might impact their lives. This exploration will provide insights into what is real and how our senses shape our experiences.
