  2. The iPad • The iPad is a truly revolutionary device with many features that can help the classroom in many different ways. • The iPad can change the classroom in a lot of ways. With the iBookstore, it could change the way students read books forever. • The iPad is so lightweight being only 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inches thick and is lighter than any laptop or netbook. This can help students in the future by not having a huge strain on there backs carrying heavy books in there book bags. If you replace all of those books with one simple device students could decrease here chances of having back problems in the future. Who really wants to carry heavy books home on a daily basis?

  3. The iPad (cont.) • Also, people who have problems with seeing the board can take out there iPads and somehow transmit what is on the board with possible future iPad app or a signaler that hooks up iPads to the smart board and transmits what is on the smart board to the iPad. • Also posting things on your email will be easy or posting things on websites that the teacher assigned you to work on and post things on like the wikispace. • The crisp display can help students who have eye problems see text better and easier. It also zooms in to the text and has a bright backlight.

  4. The VAIO L Series All-in- one Touchscreen • This device has us equipped with windows 7, has a 24” full HD (1920x1080) touchscreen an multi touch control. • It can help in the future of academics so the teachers can just navigate the smart board from there computers so they wouldn’t have to keep going back in forth between the computer and the smart board. • There teaching day could be made easier this way.

  5. The Future of the Classroom • I think that the traditional calculator and books will plummet because there are more and more things being created that can make everything easier and people won’t feel the need to carry calculators and books anymore. New technology with built in books and calculators could change the classroom forever. • Things that might be enabled in the future is for the curriculum could be that the students could stay home. The traditional school house wouldn’t exist and everything would be done over the computer. That way the students and teachers could have more time with there families.

  6. Conclusion • What interested me in the iPad article is all of the features it has and how the article was filled with good information on the iPad. I got interested in the VAIO L series article was when I was browsing Sony’s products, it peaked my interest and made me think about ways this device can impact the classroom. • I learned that there are many new advancements in technology that can help the classroom or possibly shape how we look at the setting of school. • The way we can use the iPad in our classroom is we can use it to navigate the wikispace from it and use as a replacement for some homework assignments and for a calculator. • I would like to learn about more technology that is being introduced in the future or has already been.
