  2. Childhood • Arthur Henson was born on October 15 in Massachusetts. When • He was younger his parents helped him learn about medicine. • When he was younger he went to medical school.

  3. Arthur as a doctor • Then in 1997 he became a famous surgeon who won many awards. • They moved to Maryland. In Maryland he had to learn about more tools he had never even heard of. • It was hard learning about tools He had never heard of.

  4. Moving • In Maryland Arthur had to learn about more tools he had never even heard of. In Massachusetts, Arthur had less money for his work. When he got to Maryland they gave him more money so he could get fancier equipment.

  5. Family • Arthur Henson was not just a surgeon he was a husband and father. He had two sons named Joshua and Harold. In 2000 they moved to Maryland. In Maryland Arthur had to learn about

  6. Better Work • When he got to Maryland they gave him more money so he could get fancier equipment. It was hard learning about tools he had never heard of, but learning about the tools helped his research.

  7. Fake Brain • Some people lived a whole fifteen minutes with their new brains. The research that Henson did inspired other doctors to try it. Doctors are now trying to make artificial brains that will let people live longer.

  9. THE disease • He died a hard terrible death in 2006. When Arthur was 68 one of patients had a really bad disease . Arthur got the disease. The disease affected his brain.

  10. Good Surgeon • His parents were at his funeral. They were very sad at his death. • but he helped A lot of people.. He helped a lot of people before he died. He was one of the best surgeons in the U.S.A.
