  1. How Proximity Reader Systems Work and Their Main Advantages Proximity Card Access Systems: Generally defined, proximity reader systems require either a key fob or access card in order to operate, provided it is in close proximity to the actual device reader itself. This will then allow the door to unlock, thereby granting entry for those individuals who are authorized to access it. In terms of the credentials that are required, only programmed, single-factor authentication is needed. Furthermore, each credential device includes a personal identification number, which can be programmed to either limit or restrict access at any time. Unless someone has been given the correct access permissions via the programmed security application, no door will be unlocked by a proximity reader system. Here are four of the main advantages of using proximity reader systems. *Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of using proximity reader systems involves security, as being able to take advantage of extra security is more than enough when it comes to investing in this type of system. Thanks to the option of either a key fob or access card, the cost of having to pre-key a building and reissue physical keys whenever one ends up going missing can be completely eliminated. *Another main advantage involves all of the special features that are included with this type of system, including the fact that access cards and key fobs can be completely customizable. For instance, they are able to be used at vending machines, copy machines, lockers, supply closets, medical equipment rooms, and so much more depending on the specific type of business that you run, as well as the type of access that you wish to enable for specific employees. *Convenience is another main advantage in terms of using proximity reader systems, as access cards and key fobs are designed to completely eliminate the requirement of needing multiple keys. As a result, employees will be able to have access to many areas that they need to get to in order to complete their work without having to worry about keeping track of multiple keys. Additionally, proximity credentials themselves are also inexpensive and can also be easily replaced in the event that they somehow end up going missing or even worn out. All that will need to be done is to reprogram the access system itself, which

These systems are designed to automatically maintain a full record of who enters a building, and what time. This is information that can be extremely valuable in terms of keeping track of visitor data, employee movement/attendance, and the presence of specific individuals in the event of some sort of an emergency.
