Limitations • Currently, no free video editing software can capture the videos directly from the Flip camcorder • Flip Share software cannot “edit” video by splitting and adding effects • Can “trim” from beginning and end of videos • Flip Share software can only export in MP4 format – not compatible with Windows Movie Maker • Need to use a separate file converter software – Super is a free one (see handout)
Solutions • Don’t ask for long recordings • OR ask them to break their recordings into scenes • If they make a mistake, they refilm. • Secret form of practice • Have the students create the script, practice the script, and record the script • Have the LLC download the videos • THIS option requires only one scene videos because we won’t know the order of the scenes
Let’s Create • Need groups of 3 – Decide who is Simbaand Mufasa. The narrator is also the videographer. • 3 mins. • Simba & Mufasa practice while videographer come get instructions on the Flip • 7 mins. • Video record two separate scenes – refilm mistakes • 10 mins. • Follow the instructions for creating your movie using Flip Share software • Ask for help at any time • 10 mins. • Let’s watch the results together
