Wrestling on the snow. Wrestlers have been wrestling on the snow in Şavşat which is in the northeast of Turkey for seventeen years. This sport is a Middleeast Turkish culture.It is called Karakucak and it shows the endurance, gentlemanship and the sportive soul of Turkish people.

  2. Wrestlers have been wrestling on the snow in Şavşat which is in the northeast of Turkey for seventeen years. This sport is a Middleeast Turkish culture.It is called Karakucak and it shows the endurance, gentlemanship and the sportive soul of Turkish people.

  3. The rules are the same as wrestling. • The difference is diong it on the snow.It is colder and of course harder.

  4. Every year in February,wrestlers from all over Turkey and also from Europe come to Şavşat for wrestling on the snow. At the end the winner gets money award and a medal.The wrestlers are called ‘Pehlivan’ and the winner is called ‘Başpehlivan’. Many people go to Şavşat to watch these competitions.
