  1. Persuasive Essay On Sports Competitive sports Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it's not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future. One thing that is a positive outcome in sports is the overflowing happiness people get when they participate in competitive sports. One example is that "children who were involved in sports were more assertive, had greater confidence in their skills and physical appearance, and reported more positive feelings than those who didn't participate. (Merkal, Donna, Youth sport: positive and negative impact on young athletes, 201, May 31)." If children hold an extreme love for the sport they play, most children use that sport as an escape. Playing sports blows off steam and helps people relax. "Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research ,Exercise: 7 benefits of regular physical activity, 1998)." Playing sports can help bring families or other kids together to build strong bonds. "It appears that US children are healthy and happy as they engage in this traditional pastime, and families report higher levels of satisfaction if their children participate. (Macdonald, Brian, Kids in Sports, Part 5: Can sports help shy kids to make friends?, 2009)." A pat on the back from a parental figure is enough to keep kids going and doing their best. Because sports make children happier, they are more prone to keep playing which all in all makes children happier and it teaches kids to do what makes them happy. With suicide being the second biggest fatality for adolescents doing what makes them happy can be a life or death situation. Correspondingly, fitness is a huge plus side of competitive sports. Diabetes is affecting around 8.6% of America's population. "More than 29 million American ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  2. Persuasive essay Love is a beautiful thing. It makes people happy. It can change a person, and show someone things that they never knew about themselves. It lifts one up, knowing there is always someone who will stand by their side through anything. It brings people together, and makes the world a better place. Some people may disagree; they might think love is just a fantasy. Either way, it is a fantasy that everyone deserves to dream of and experience in all its glory, whether straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. However, not all people are so accepting of love when it is not in the form that they are familiar with, or is not demonstrated in ways that they think are proper. This can be easily seen in society's treatment of non–heterosexuals,...show more content... Yes, the legal definition of marriage includes that it is between one man and one woman. This definition is not fair. Marriage should be about powerful love and support, despite the genders of the two recipients. Minnesota republican Wheelock Whitney, who ran for governor and senator in past years, wrote an editorial on his support for gay marriage in the Star Tribune last month. He said: "Gay men and lesbians are among the most talented people out there. Needless and hurtful laws [banning same–sex marriage] drive them away. They also drive away innovative people of any sexual orientation who simply want to live in a place that respects and celebrates the diversity of life." He continued by saying: "my happiness has never depended on depriving others of their happiness. My marriage has never needed the exclusion of others from marriage. I am not threatened by seeing others find love and celebrate it." Gays are normal people just like anyone else, who struggle with their identities and live in search of success, love, and happiness. Prejudiced laws banning same–sex marriage needlessly keep these people from natural human desires. No damage is done to society by letting same–sex couple marry and lead more content, loving lives. If anything, it makes our country a better, happier place. While adult non–heterosexuals are regularly discriminated against via their denied access from legal marriage, those much younger face constant discrimination ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Persuasive Essay On Nike The Nike store has the ability to attract many customers because it found the way to get people's attention through the idea of exercise. However, most likely people are most likely considering themselves to be in shape so that they can accept themselves and impress many other people. Also, the idea of being healthy has been in people's mind and that circulates the thought that people want to live for many more years. In addition, having a store like Nike that provides us with products that will help us feel more comfortable in doing exercise has increased many people addiction to exercise from different varieties of ages. Although, while many customers that buy products from Nike regularly are clues that some just want to show off the brand. Nike persuades its customers that their is no other place better than Nike with the advertisement from famous athletes exercising and representing its brand. Which in that, believe or not, that initiates many people's mindset to realize that they need to start exercising or consider a sport because were motivated by how the Nike helps and ordinary person feel and look built up like an athlete would do. When having the right tools to initiate something, we may all feel excited to start it. Which means, if we have products that are for exercising we will be willing to exercising even harder because we for the reason that will be motivated to do so. Besides all that, consumers nowadays want to fit in society by being in shape; the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  5. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  6. Persuasive Essay On 9 / 11 It's crazy how something as small as someone's beliefs can cause one of the biggest tragedies worldwide. All it took was more than a dozen terrorist, two planes, and a well thought out plan to create the catastrophe we call the 9/11 attack but they call a tremendous heroic event. This was simply an act of being at the right place at the wrong time. 9/11 could be seen all the way in space but was felt by the people in the smallest towns to enormous cities. Although the crashes on 9/11 happened in the amount 102 minutes the aftermath lasted about 99 days yet will never be forgotten among everyone everywhere. Those were truly 102 minutes that shook the world and for some it will never stop shaking. September 11, 2001 four planes...show more content... As Rev. Al Taylor says during his interview given by his great niece Nayah McCoy on Thursday September 7th 2017 " A week after the attack I had to travel to Texas for a business trip but I refused to go by plane and it just wasn't possible to make it down in time by car so I just didn't go. Of course I was in risk of losing my job but my family is more important than anything, I need them and they need me that's just how it works." Although it could be hard to imagine that 9/11 would affect the toys that children play with but it did. During the interview with Elise Elburg given by her neighbor she states "My son loved planes, most of his toys where planes. But once my family and I heard what happened with 9/11 I threw all of his plans away. Most people call me crazy for doing that but what they don't know is that on September 11th 2001 my sister and her husband were supposed to get on a plane to visit us but ended up canceling because she got sick. Now im not sure what plane she was on because I never asked but she could've been on one of the planes that crashed and that scared me half to death. Some parents don't like their children playing with guns, well, I don't like my children playing with planes." This statement also goes along with video games too. Elise was asked if video games were included and without any hesitation she said yes including videogames. There are many video games that remind Elise about the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...
