  2. What its used for • The sys stim machine is used for symptomatic relief of chronic pain. • Acute post traumatic pain • Acute post surgical pain • Muscle re-education

Appropriate time to use Stim Machine • Apply to specific muscle group • Electrical stimis a form of electrical therapy used to promote tissue healing and the reduction of pain. • It may also be used to rehabilitate soft tissue. • Electrical stim is great for: the relaxation of muscle spasms • increasing range of motion • Reduction • prevention of muscle atrophy • re-education of muscles • increasing local blood circulation • relief from minor pain (joint pains, muscle aches, etc) • stress

DON’T USE IF • The patient is pregnant • The patient has a cardiac demand pacemaker • Do not put electrodes across the chest laterally • Do not place electrodes on the front of the neck because it may close patients air way • Do not use on Deep vein thrombosis • Do not use over swollen, infected or inflamed areas or skin with eruptions • Do not place over fractured bones • Do not apply immediately following trauma or tissue susceptible to hemorrhage. (Wait 48-72 hours post injury before used)

Different uses • Many office uses various forms of e stim, including: • interferential therapy • pre-modulated therapy • Russian stimulation • hivolt • microvolt stimulation. • Electronic Muscle Stimulation - Can be used for Abdominal toner for muscle toning • Many Electro Stim Unit have the above forms. An electro unit therapy for your appropriate condition is determined by your doctor.
