  2. Foundation andmission • The Training Centre was established as a separate unit of the State Technical Library on July 1,1999 • The Training Centre mission is to provide a professional education for: • staff of the State Technical Library • users of their services • general professional public

  3. Equipment and line-up The major part of technical and technological equipment purchase was coveredfrom funds of the State Technical Library. The completion of its equipment was funded from the grant application of the Open Society Institute – Network Library Program (OSI /NLP) in 2000.

  4. Moving intocooperation This grant application has been followed by the project “Training Centre for Continuing Education of Librarians in the Czech Republic“ of the MOLIN consortium in which the Training Centre of the State Technical Library nowparticipates in: • educational events • coordination of the educational events in framework of the Regional Training Centre in Prague • signing a contract about cooperation in education between National Library CR and STL

Expanding cooperation by participation • in Educational Section SKIP(Association of Library and Information Professionals of Czech Republic)http://www.nkp.cz/o_knihovnach/konsorcia/skip/SekceVzdel.htm • in processing the schedule of the Library Conferences, Workshops and Training Eventshttp://www.stk.cz/Akce • in professional group for information education of Association of University Libraries

Online2000Centrum The most-attended course – MS Word Total of 76 employees have entered the MS Word course, 40 employeesfinished the test successfulyduring theJanuary 2001 - December 2002 period. The record holder of this course is our colleague, who filled in 83 tests3 days before and 69 tests one day before the exam(without neglecting his work – as his superior says). At the end hepassed the exam successfully.
