Overall Accomplishments: 2010 • All 7 regional collaboratives have EP activities • Development of a subject matter expert core • NCC-EP Workgroup: regular mtgs with agenda and programs based on Contingency Plan • Development of one-day EP workshop • Focused EP exercise • Public/private perspectives, consumers • Publications: • Several white papers, journal submissions • NCC Collaborator: next edition devoted to EP • NCC-EP program: recognized by FEMA as a Model Program for Public-Private Partnership

  5. Regional Collaborative Activities: 2010 -11 • NEGC (Region 1) • participation in NYMAC EP exercise • EP workshop scheduled for spring 2011 • NYMAC (Region2) • Conducted EP workshop in fall 2010 • Exploring lab sample exchange • Explored medical record backup program

Regional Collaborative Activities: 2010 -11 • SERG (Region 3) • Yearly tabletop or functional exercises at annual mtg x 3y • Functional exercise with Heartland using MEMSCIS (MyIEF) testing use of virtual medical records in disaster drill • Developed 1 day workshop with tabletop exercise which have been/will be conducted in 3 regions • EP workgroup: NBS results survey • 2 manuscripts in preparation

Regional Collaborative Activities: 2010 -11 • Region 4 • Developed virtual medical record solution: MEMSCIS rebranded as MyEIF • Publication in preparation regarding MyIEF • Heartland (Region 5) • Performed multistate NBS lab contingency plan and functional drill including Minnesota (more about this from Stan Berberich, PhD) • Preparing EP workshop in spring

  8. Regional Collaborative Activities: 2010 -11 • MSRGCC (Region 6) • Second annual EP workgroup meeting • Preparing for EP workshop in spring, 2011 • WSGSC (Region 7) • Completed EP assessment workshop • Preparing a regional strategic plan

  9. SERC Project: NBS Results Reporting Survey • 53 states’ and territories’ NBS lab director and/or state NBS coordinator surveyed for: • How do report your normal, borderline and abnormal NBS results? • What do you think is the BEST way to report an abnormal NBS result?

  14. National EP Initiatives • Participation in national organization EP groups • Nat. Emergency Manager’s Association (sponsor of EMAC) • American Public Health Laboratory association • Development of National Genetics Professional Cadre to support response mission of DHHS • Development of genetics network situational awareness by network-wide survey/assessment of capacity to respond • Support wider participation of: • NBS lab harmonization/contingency planning • Backup lab agreements and sample exchange drills • Development/sponsorship of EP awareness education: • Online training modules, EP content • Development of genetics professional cadre
