Stars of the week Reception – Lucy Smith Rebecca Dooley Year 1 - Erin Smith Ben Bickel Year 2 - Raith McDonnell Rhys Walby Year 3 - Lauren Bowles Holly Jordan Year 4 - Ffion Brown Dan Martin Year 5 - Bethan Hawkins Charlie Edwards Year 6 - Tom Jenkin Zacary Phillips Thornhill Times Thornhill Primary School Friday 7th October 2011 • News • On behalf of all the staff and families I would like to say thank you to the PTA and T20 committee for all the hard work organising the Family Fun Night last week. It was an excellent night enjoyed by all. • Following on from the fun night, Futsal have offered to host a 5 a-side tournament to raise funds for the school. This tournament will be for adults so if you are interested in getting a team together keep an eye out for more information. So far we have interest from some parents, Thornhill Church, Police and some other schools. • Due to a high demand for our after school clubs we have organised a third football club. If your child is in Year 2, 3 or 4 and in football club or on the waiting list they should have received a letter today. • Mr Davies and some members of staff are looking into redesigning our school website. If you have any interest in being involved or contributing please let Mr Davies know as he will be wanting to speak to parents about the design and what you as parents would like. • School Council have decided that this year’s harvest charity will be Cardiff Food Bank who donate food to local families in need. Please donate non-perishable food between Monday 17th and Wednesday 19th October. Thank you, Kezia Harris • Could all children involved in Hockey club please bring in shin pads as now they are starting to play games. • We are on the look out to purchase a second hand 17 seater minibus, please let me know if you know of any for sale. • Reminders and dates • Reception are going to be making wind chimes, please send in coat hooks and anything that could hang and jingle. • Dance trip Monday 11th. • Infant cinema night Tuesday 12th.
