  6. Current System Pros – • Internal familiarity • ? Cons • Over 20 different pieces of software • Lack of documentation for each piece • Different authors, different languages • No support for every piece of software • Too many different file types • Difficult learning curve

  7. New System Pros • Simple to use • Good documentation (software internal, web) • Better support (Frank Mowry, Malcolm Archer-Shee) • Training (Ronnie Taylor, Corbin) Cons • It ain’t done yet!

  8. New System Status • WinDesc – Latest version released October 20, 2005 • Translev – Latest version released October 25, 2005 • Adjustment (Linetool, ASTA) – Requires simplification for easier use – currently being worked on. Needs policy/requirements clarification

  9. Policy Issues • NGS policy that all projects tied to CORS • Conflict in policy and software with regard to entering descriptions for CORS
