History Of Surface 2001 The concept of an interactive table is born 2004 A dedicated group is formed, and more than 85 prototypes are developed 2003 The first prototype is presented to Bill Gates 2005 The final look and feel of Surface is finalized 2007 Microsoft Surface is unveiled to the world

  6. 2008: Scaled deployments to current launch partners and additional leisure, entertainment and retail companies in U.S. Current Market Timing Late ‘07 / ‘08: Initial deployments to current launch partners • HW & SDK available for partners May ‘07: Announcement Future Markets: • Future Verticals: government, education, enterprise and eventually the home • International Expansion: While international deployment plans have yet to be announced, they will occur some time after scaled deployments in U.S.
