  1. How to make a museum book!

  2. Materials needed: • 4 sheets of long paper (8.5 X 14) • 4 sheets of square paper (7 X 7) • Manila folder or cardstock (7 ¾ X 7 ¾) • 1 piece of ribbon or yarn: 36” long About Gluing: • The entire book is held together by glue. Any surface you are gluing must be entirely covered with glue (out to edges) and firmly pressed to adhere.

  3. Step 1 • Fold each of the 4 long pieces of paper in half lengthwise. (crease carefully using a ruler edge) • Fold up the bottom of each folded piece up 1 ½ ” and crease. • Fold in bottom corner of each page to crease to form a triangle. • Cut the triangle off along the fold line. • Repeat with all 4 long pieces of paper.

  4. Step 2 • Open the folded papers and refold tabs so they both fold up to the inside of paper. • Attach the smaller square along the edge of folded tab. • Fold back square along edge to make it meet bottom edge and crease along the fold. • Attach the other edge of small square to the remaining tab. • Repeat these steps for all 4 sections of the book.

  5. Step 3 • To attach sections: • Place each folded room so that the fold is on left and floor is on the bottom. (check each one) • Mark an x on upper right hand corner of each folded room.

  6. Step 4 • Begin by stacking each room on top of another room. Check position and glue outside page thoroughly before attaching them. • Continue with all 4 room sections

  7. Step 5 • Fold ribbon in half and wrap ribbon around outside of 4 room sections that are glued. • Glue ribbon in place to secure. • Fold cover in both directions and place room sections up close to the fold of cover!

  8. Step 6 • Thoroughly glue inside cover of book. • Carefully place the 4 room sections inside the cover, checking to make sure ribbon is positioned correctly. • Firmly press books to make sure all surfaces of pages are secured. • Carefully test the book to make sure all sections are correctly placed and book functions as it should. • Label book and place under a book to press and dry!
