  2. Objectives • Understand how indicators can be applied to measure progress with IWRM and facilitate cooperation between river basins. • Appreciate the use of indicators to establish goals and measure performance.

  3. Key Messages • This module will: • Define indicators and how they are used; • Present the criteria for the development of indicators; • Relate the minimum set of indicators to water resources management functions; and • Propose a minimum set of indicators for measuring progress towards sustainable management of water resources.

Partners in Communication • Decision Making • Internal = JC, Council, NMC Directors • External = Senior Managers of national and provincial planning institutions • Co-thinking = Academes, Researchers, WR specialized institutions, other RBOs • Co-knowing = Interest groups, mass org., NGOs, the public

Desired Relationships (DRs) • What sort of relationship is desired with a particular category of partners that would lead to trust and participation • Focus on quality of the relationships rather than the mere transfer of information • DRs are the basis for developing communication objectives and strategies

  9. Key Messages • What are the Mekong Agreement, PDIES, PWUM, PNPCA, PMFM and PWQ? • How do they apply, who are affected, and what are the benefits of MA and the Procedures? • How can different stakeholders involve in the implementation of MA and the applications of the Procedures and DSF

Desired Outcomes Thorough understanding of benefits and applications of WUP outputs Specialized in his/her own areas Close cooperation Communication Objectives Exchange of information on the performance of the activities within the project Provide continued Professional Development Promoting Team work and visual team Objectivesfor Co-operating Partners
